hellish oh my god as so pissed off that only have 4 more nights left then home :(
where to start....think last update was in irkutsk???
left irkutsk and got to ulan ude in the morn (afetr the attendant burst in an hour before our stop and shouted "get up" was hilarious, but scary) stayed at a homestay, oh my god the shiower was in the corrider and it was so god damn cold :( got in the shower after we locked the boys in their room he he then the guys son walked in...argh!! the shiower was on stilts. i say shower, the boys used up the hot water so had a shower with a bucket of hot water from the banya and heikas tea mug, umm interesting. i have SO lowered my standards omg!! so ulan ude was cool, walked down to main square and saw the lenin heda which is MASSIVE!! hellish! it was international childrens day so lotsa kids around and balloons n stuff, also there was some awesome techno playing, hellish the russinas love their techno. oops typos, apologies.
we then had lunch and strolled around, chilled, got attacked by dogs etc then had lovely evening meal together. got up really early the next day to get the train, i am living on hardly any food, hardly any sleep but thankfully not too much voddie he he ;)
so we had to cross the border from russia to mongolia, hellish, 9 hours argh...toliets locked and boiling hot so coulnt drink as couldnt pee. ggggrrr was tough but a laugh. omg horrendous comedy scetch.....jumpedoff train for a smoke and brad and dallas were off aswell and the train started moving (turned out was only moving tracks to get the other engine) and we couldnt get back on our carriage so had to run and jump on a moving train and get on the other carriage. we then couldnt get back on to ours as the dividing doors were shut, hellish omg the panic. also, there was the thought that what if that carriage then disconnected. am getting all nervous jus thinking about it omg! anyway, was all okay.
when we FINALLY got into mongolia we all cheered and have marked the time and date in my journal when we got in finally. was awesome. we then had some voddie and all squeezed in one cabin and i have a wicked photo of us all and some video footgae, was well cool. we were all well happy. then it got messy and dint get much sleep and got off train at 6am is. got to hotel (yes, a hotel, at last) and had shower then one n half hour minibus (sctechy) journey to ger camp. omg, i love mongolia, it is awesome and great and i wanna come back-who is coming with me? i also wanna do the end of the trans siberian to vladivostock...any takers???
so the ger camp, slept in an actual ger and it was so toasty until the morn, hellish. we had some great food and i did some poi listening to mp3-sigur ros. now if you know how much i love my poi and sigur ros, combine the 2, along with being in the middle of nowhere in mongolia i was one happy H. I screamed a big "woohoo" was great.
oh my god, this trip is amazing but so hard going, christ i am knackered but so happy and i still have china left. it really is something else, a real once in a lifetime trip and the guys are great, we are the most hectic group that our guide has ever had! he he oh dear...is that a good thing??
anyone seen the new satc movie? argh bloody americans, film, not movie! he he last night at dinner we organised a satc movie, argh done it again, FILM night on sat night as its my last night, we are gonna have cosmopolitans too. i feel special that we are doing it cos its my last night. awwww
lots of peeps are gonna do the great wall with me on sat in the day, cool-o-rama.
have tried to send some texts but they not goimg through so i suspect that i will have the same problem in china just so that you know.
so ulaan bataar is cool, can see the WW2 memorial thingy outside the city but havent got time to get out there. gonna check out the museum.
just been for lunch and met up with some other travellers so invited them to our meal tonight, there is talk of clubbing, breakfast at 6.30 oh dear!! so final furlong approaches, train tomorrow til fri afternoon, along with a nice border crossing again for about 6 hours to get into china. this is mad!! he he
i keep getting moments when am thinking about pals and family back home and listening to p3 and i am just like "how the hell i\am i gonna spit all this out when I get back??" also "how am i gonna go back to work and live my life again after this?" it really is something else.

Am sitting here pi**ing myself with laughter thinking of you not being able to get back into your cabin on the train, trust you Hel you crazy bird!!! Really look forward to reading your blog, it's just so entertaining. Have been telling some of my work colleages what you have been to and they think you are mad, great but mad! Am sure you have so much more to tell so I will have to wait until we can meet up for proper girly catch up. Bet you feel like you have crammed so much in and probably lived 10 years in the space of a couple of weeks. You have probably experienced in a couple of weeks what most people experience in a lifetime! You should feel very proud of yourself for doing this trip. Bet you are also going to keep in touch with a lot of people you have met too. Friends for life eh?
xxxxx
